Review: DQ vegan nondairy dilly bar

My kids wanted to go to DQ, so I thought it was a good idea to try their vegan dilly bar. They are nondairy and vegan. The dilly bar has a coconut based ice cream on the inside with the classic chocolate shell coating on the outside. Not only can you purchase them singly at DQ, but they offered boxes of them ready to go. That works out great for a family or to take home.

I have to say that the vegan dilly bar was really good! I liked it. Very tasty, good texture, and it was just yummy!

Having said that, I have to be completely honest. I should have checked the ingredients list before eating it, instead of after. I try to avoid some ingredients due to them causing intestinal inflammation, and several of them are the vegan dilly bar. Ugh. I was so disappointed to see that some of the ingredients in there that are suspect for causing intestinal inflammation and even cancer. The vegan dilly bar contains several ingredients I try to avoid (in bold below).

Here are the ingredients in the vegan DQ dilly bar:

Water, Sugar, Corn Syrup, Maltodextrin, Coconut Oil, Coconut Cream, Contains 2% Or Less Of Vanilla Extract, Xanthan Gum, Guar Gum, Carrageenan, Carob Bean Gum, Mono & Diglycerides), Coating (Coconut Oil, Sugar, Cocoa Processes With Alkali, Corn Starch, Soy Lecithin, Salt, Natural Flavor

I have a list of about 12 toxic ingredients I try to avoid when possible, and three are in this vegan dilly bar. Some of the other ingredients in it may also be toxic or harmful to health, but I haven't researched everything. I just have a list of the worse offenders, which include carrageenan and maltodextrin. 

While I really liked the taste of the vegan dilly bar, I won't be buying it again, due to the ingredients. If they were to clean up the ingredients I'd give it another shot! I'm glad they offer a vegan option in their restaurant, I just wish the ingredients were cleaner.
