Tofu you don't need to press or freeze!

IMG_5130

I have been making tofu for going on 26 years now. I wrote before about how I always freeze my tofu when I bring it in from the store, so that it's firmer and there's no need to press it. Well, everything has changed now, and I couldn't be happier!

Nasoya has come out with a super firm vacuum-packed tofu that doesn't need any pressing or freezing. It's amazing! I have to say that I'm more excited about this one product in the last few months than about anything else. It's really got me excited.

I saw this tofu in the store a few months ago. I'm always interested in something new when it comes to vegan food. I could see that there wasn't a bunch of water in the container and that it was super firm, so I wanted to give it a try. I use tofu weekly in our house, so I've been buying it ever since. If you haven't tried it you must!

The consistency of this vacuum-packed tofu is wonderful and you don't need to press it. I literally open it and drain a few drops of water out of it over the sink. That's it. It's that easy. And it's organic. I always insist on buying organic tofu. It's water drained and ready to use.

Nasoya has hit it out of the park with this new tofu that doesn't need to be pressed or froze before using. It's the tofu I will now be looking for every week when I go shopping.

You can check out their website for more info on where to find it near you here.

Below you can see a quick lunch I made with it. I cut some strips of tofu and sauteed them with a little avocado oil, garlic powder, sea salt, Bragg's liquid aminos, and a tiny dash of agave. I put it on a pita that had a whole avocado on it, along with some other veggies. It was so good!
