It comes in a few varieties, including organic options, sticks, spreads, etc. Earth Balance butters are plant based, vegan, and non-GMO.

• Country Crock Plant Butter - I needed butter and went to reach for my usual Earth Balance, which was $4.19, when I saw that Country Crock Plant Butter was one sale for $2.49. I decided that for that price I was going to give it a try. I bought the Country Crock Plant Butter with olive oil. It was really good! I liked it right from the start. They offer a variety of plant based butters that are all vegan. I also tried the avocado oil one, which I did not care for. It had no flavor at all, it just seemed like oil on my toast. I would buy the olive oil one again, but not the avocado oil one.

• I Can't Believe it's Not Butter It's Vegan - This is made by the I Can't Believe it's Not Butter company. They offer a vegan option. I was happy to see this in the store and bought it to try. I didn't actually care for it. The taste wasn't very good to me. I won't buy it again, but I'm glad that it is available for those who like it, and it offers more vegan butter options. 

• Miyoko's Vegan Butter - I have seen this vegan butter in the store, but I have not yet tried it. The Miyoko's vegan products tend to be more expensive, and I haven't justified spending more when there are products I already like that are more affordable. However, I have heard good things about this vegan butter. Many people have said they think it's good. This one is made without palm oil, so if you are looking for a vegan butter that doesn't contain palm oil this would be the option to try.

Many people wonder if Smart Balance has vegan butter. They do offer ones that look vegan when you check out the ingredients list, but they are not vegan. The D3 in their product is derived from sheep lanolin.
