I first wrote about Mellow Mushroom offering vegan pizza back in January. I was there again today at the Port Orange, Florida location, and I'm happy to say they are now using Follow Your Heart vegan cheese. They used to use Daiya vegan cheese, but the swap makes me happy, because I much prefer the Follow Your Heart brand on a pizza. 

Pictured here, we have a vegan Mellow Mushroom pizza that has tempeh, roasted red peppers, and onion. It was good. I do wish they offered regular pizza crust instead of the whole grain stuff they use. It may be healthier, but it's not tastier, and it's so darn thick! Overall, a good pizza, but it would be even better if they had a nice white regular pizza crust. Two thumbs up for switching to Follow Your Heart vegan cheese!

Mellow Mushroom also offers hoagies that you can have made vegan. Just let them know you want it vegan and they will hold back the mayo and use the vegan cheese. They offer a tofu and tempeh option, and both are pretty tasty! I'm also a fan of their unsweet iced tea, and they always have good service.
