I'm always excited when I hear about restaurants that are vegetarian friendly. I mean more than just having a salad on the menu or that they are willing to whip you up something that isn't actually on a meat-laden menu. So when I heard that Yard House, a chain restaurant that opened in April in Orlando, had a gardein menu section I was interested in trying it.
Located on International Drive in Orlando, Yard House is a nice restaurant that is kind of a brewery style place. They have 131 different beers on tap, making my husband a happy man! It's very nice and clean in there and the staff were very pleasant. We had a great table by the window that looks at out International Drive. This became entertaining when we were dining and were hit with a huge thunderstorm.
The menu at Yard House is huge! But I was interested in the gardein section. They have numerous dishes you can get made with gardein (a vegan meat alternative). But you can pretty much substitute gardein meat alternatives in other dishes throughout the menu as well. Even the kids menu stated that you could get gardein. There were several options I wanted to try, but I opted for the gardein veggie chick'n sandwich, minus the mayo and cheese. It had avocado (yum!), along with lettuce, tomato, and onion, and it's served with a tasty pickle and great thin and crispy shoe-string style fries.
My husband and I both ate the same dish and we both liked it. I was happy to hear the whole table behind us order off the gardein menu as well. It's great that they have these vegetarian options. It's a place that I will go back to again!
