Ever go to an Earth Day event only to see non-vegetarian food served? We
vegetarians know that eating meat is the worst diet for the planet, yet the people who put together the eco-friendly events don't seem to "get it."
Well, it's not like that with the Central Florida Earth Day event, which takes place each year in Orlando, Fla. That's one of the many reasons why I love this event each year! All of the food served in the event's food court is vegan! There will be quite a few vendors, great food to choose from and all of it will be vegan and served in eco-friendly containers. You have to love that!
To check out this year's Central Florida Earth Day event stop by the Lake Eola Park, located in Orlando, on Saturday, April 24 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
There will be many eco-friendly booths, lots of great vegan food, activities, speakers, a kid's area, humane education information, and more!
I'll be there when it opens, setting up the table for the Vegetarian Resource Group. Stop by and say hi if you are in the area!
Happy Earth Day! And if you attend an event that is serving meat, write those who put on the event to inform them of it. When I lived in Las Vegas the Earth Day event was always filled with meat options. I wrote them and pointed out that their food vendors did not keep in line with the event theme. I did the same thing here where I live, when an event was held in New Smyrna Beach and they were serving meat. Whether or not it changes anything, at least you are letting them know that someone notices!
