I'm a fan of Dr. Joel Kahn. He lives in the metro-Detroit area, where he runs a cardiology center and owns a vegan restaurant. He also travels around giving talks about plant based eating, including at veg fest's. He recently came out with a book called The Plant-Based Solution: America's Healthy Heart Doc's Plan to Power Your Health. I was eager to read it since I'm a fan of his, so this past week that is what I read.
This book has a lot of good information based on scientific research regarding the benefits of a plant based diet. It also has many helpful tips, and a whole recipe section, which offers a 21-day eating plan. The information in the book is really good, and even goes beyond the health aspect (thank you) to include some info about the environmental and ethical issues of eating a meat based diet. There are some recipes in this book that I'm looking forward to making as well.
If you are interested in learning more about the health benefits of a plant based diet I recommend checking out Dr. Kahn's book. It's a good read and offers you some helpful tips to get started. Two thumbs up!
