This week my husband and I decided to try a local Thai restaurant that
we had been wanting to check out. With both kids in school it seemed like the perfect time.
Siam Spice is a Thai restaurant located at the corner of Bay Street and Beach Street and in Daytona Beach. They have a great location for the retaurant and plenty of window space for people watching and viewing outdoors as you dine (Beach Street is a great place to take in the scenery as you dine).
It took us a while to decide what to order because there were many vegetarian options to choose from. We started with the spring rolls, which were delicious! I love a good spring roll and theirs was perfect, as was the dipping sauce.
For our main courses we ordered the cashew nut sautee and the red
curry dish. Both are served with rice. We shared the dishes so we could try everything. With each dish you can either choose from chicken, beef, pork or tofu. We ordered both dishes tofu, of course. You can also choose your level of spice, which we chose mild.
The food was great! We liked both dishes. They even had good iced tea (for me that is important in a restaurant).
Two thumbs up for Siam Spice in Daytona Beach. One more good place to
find vegetarian food in the area. We will be back again to try the other dishes. They have a great location, good food and service and a nice atmosphere.
Follow up 9/13/10: We ate there again today. This time we had a ginger dish and a noodle dish. The food and service were both very good! Also, I forgot to mention the last time that Thai restaurants often use fish in the base of many dishes. They also do this with many at Siam Spice. However, they are happy to make it vegetarian. Simply tell them you do not want fish sauce and they will keep the dish completely vegetarian for you.
